In March 2016 I watched AlphaGo play Lee Sedol the way an amateur 5-dan watches anything: counting, and expecting to be able to follow. By game two I couldn't. Move 37 wasn't a move I would have rejected — it was one I would never have considered. I had been writing backend code for four years by then, after a short first career in pre-sales. That week I decided the thing that beat me was the thing I wanted to build.
I taught myself deep reinforcement learning, gave a seminar on it to my team, and in 2018 moved to Tencent's YouTu Lab: edge computing and AI cameras first, then five years on Tencent Cloud's TI platform as tech lead for its gateway, AutoML and data-processing modules. We took the platform from zero to commercialization; the gateway I designed went from an APISIX prototype to a Kubernetes-operator architecture at 99.99% availability, and carried a 100× traffic surge during the DeepSeek boom without an incident.
Today I am the backend architect at Lovart, an AI-agent product: the service topology, the gateways, the model and tool access layers, and what inference costs. I like systems that are honest about their limits, people who explain things plainly, and games where the position tells you what to do next.

I have spoken for the Apache APISIX community on high-performance gateways and translated two technical books into Chinese. I taught myself Go to amateur 5-dan, ran the Go club at Fudan, and later taught the game to children of migrant workers in Shanghai. As president of Tencent's East-China football association I took weekly turnout from under five people to forty or fifty, and the team to its best result in the Shanghai FA amateur league. I hold the MySQL OCP certification. I am learning Japanese and Spanish, slowly and out loud. I am married with two daughters; I value long commitments and steady growth, in systems and otherwise.
